Before & After (Fun Entry Version)

How much do yo love a fun Entry?  I'm obsessed with bold, fun, memorable entries (which is why I'm so, so, sad mine is currently in the state that it's in, but Shhh...don't tell anyone.)

So when my client and friend Kristy asked for help with hers I jumped on it.  Kristy is a mom to three boys and has a fun, light-hearted style so fun and light-hearted is what we went for (duh).

Here is the Entry before:

Kristy and her family had just moved and in and had done nothing to the entry yet.

Folks, let this be a lesson to you all...see how Kristy called me BEFORE she spent a lot of time and money on something that she would eventually rip out anyways because she didn't like it?  I love people that call me before they make expensive mistakes.  Designer's dream right here.

Back to fun and light-hearted.  Here was our inspiration for the entry:

We loved the look of the chevron / gallery wall mix.  Kristy had some great photos of her kids taken and framed in some unique navy blue frames.  We thought a blue on blue would create just the right amount of drama.

Upgrade!!  Love how this turned out.  We used the base of the entry furniture peice but took the top off and replaced the pulls.  Kristy actually painted the chevron herself using light blue paint with the help of a stencil over her already tan walls.  I pushed for the big gold mirror (over Kristy's preferred silver) to warm the place up and keep things a little more classic looking.

Don't worry, we replaced the light fixture too:

What are your favorite entry looks?

Check back tomorrow to see the living room!
