I'm not. I mean, I love watching fashion police after the shows and of course I YouTube all the stuff the media says I MUST see (hello Miley!) but as for watching all those speeches, I'll take a pass please. Especially because unless it's a Real Housewives of Somewhere (except for New Jersey, keepin' it classy folks), then I probably don't know who they are anyways.
So basically I just like to play Monday morning quarterback (was that a football reference? what, what?! Did I even use that right?) when it comes to the fashion aspect of the award shows.
Let's get to it! Emmy's, your up:
This is Jessica Pare wearing Oscar de la Renta. First off, let me preface this by saying I have no idea who Jessica is. But I'm really diggin' her dress here. It got mixed reviews by being "big & blue" but I'm absolutely loving the color and love, love, love the shoes with it. The fabric is just gorgeous and its just all around cutesy, sexy, and elegant all at the same time. Perfect combo.
Here we have Kate Mara wearing J Mendel. Now, I don't know if I could pull off this dress but I LOVE it on Kate! Its so unique and memorable with the slightest bit of sexy. The top side is killer. Love the lacy stripes on the top and arms. Her hair is perfectly simple with this statement dress and she is simply gorgeous enough to pull this look off. On anyone else, I'm not sure if it would work. But on Kate, dynamite!
Have you heard of Jenny Packham? Me neither but here, Julianne Hough is wearing a dress by her. I'm loving the bottom of this dress. Not so much the top, but the beaded see through bottom I think really works on her. And it works because the NON see though part is large and in charge...kind of like a high waisted 50's bikini bottom. You see Julianne's beautiful figure (but not her butt cheeks) which keeps it Emmy appropriate verses, say, the MTV music award norm). Stunning.
Heidi Klum, YOU ARE OUT! Sorry beautiful, but the sweetheart neckline meets turtleneck is not doing it for me. I feel like she is getting choked by a sequin boa constrictor. And it reminds me of my 1997 homecoming dress...in a bad, bad, way. Heidi, you still look hot, but you can do better.
What was your favorite Emmy style? Do you agree with my picks? You're turn!
