Drapery Hanging 101, ORC Four

Folks, lets take a moment to talk about hanging drapery.

This popular Pinterest illustration shows you everything you need to know.

Do not, DO NOT hang your draperies on your window frame mouldings unless you want the ceilings to look low and dowdy.  Hanging the draperies near the ceiling opens everything up, makes your ceilings and windows look way larger, and makes your draperies look that much better.

Greg wanted to hang the girls' pink and white chevron draperies (purchased on this shopping trip) on the window moldings because we are renting and the hardware holes were already there from the dreadful shades (less patching when we move).  I cringed and said OK....just to be practical.

Well, once they were up I just couldn't stand it.  I don't care what needs to be patched when we leave, but these drapes MUST be hung higher!

Ahh.....much better.

See?  I actually do now what I'm talking about here folks (Greg, take note.)

I still need to get these bad boys hemmed a few inches but vast improvement over all.

I have so much more to share with you but I'm down at High Point Furniture Market and have so much to see in such a short time!  For fun showroom pics follow me on Insta!

Did you miss the first few weeks of the ORC?  Catch up with week oneweek two, and week three.
