I've been a little hit or miss in the blog department the past two weeks.
This is why:
Pure Barre. It's basically this totally addictive torturous workout.
When I first went I saw the beautiful studio and the model thin people in the latest lulu lemon I thought...yes! This is a workout place that doesn't suck! These girls are wearing full make-up so there must be no sweating involved!!! I too can be rail thin without breaking a sweat!
During the workout I see the girls on either side of me bust out into full splits. These are the girls wearing full make-up, in case you were wondering.
My friend Leslie likes to call these girls the "circus freaks". And they are.

So I go back for more....I want to be one of these girls after all. I want to look 21 and weigh 100 pounds...too much to ask?
Twelve times in two weeks. And it gets harder. And harder. And harder.
Because what they don't tell you is that it never gets easier. You use muscles you didn't know you had. You start doing things the "proper" way. You go deeper. And higher...and something.
I want to give up but I won't. I can see my body changing, as they say.
But it still sucks. And takes time.
But I still can't do the splits.
I'll be back to normal soon. Promise. Because I'm leaving the workout scene this week and visiting High Point.
