Inspiration Fabrics

People often ask me where I find inspiration for my designs.  Well, I LOVE beautiful fabrics.  I usually head down to the Cincinnati Design Center and wander through the racks and racks (and more racks) of fabrics until I find something that inspires me.  The process can be overwhelming as there is simply so much fabric to choose from.  But the more you do it the easier it gets to know where to go for what.
Right now I'm working on a living room and I found this fabric that I fell in love with.

It's a newer Designers Guild linen with flowers that look painted on the fabric. The picture almost doesn't do it justice...in person the yellows are almost a light neon with some greens in them.

After finding this inspirational fabric, I remembered this GORGEOUS Schumacher fabric.

Again, you just HAVE to experience this fabric in person.  It has a 98" vertical repeat which makes it perfect for dramatic drapes.  And the feel of it!  Its 100% linen but feels much more like silk.  The variations in the gray makes the pattern look like it was hand blocked.

I'm thinking a velvet yellow/green tufted ottoman would pull these fabrics together with some touches of gold throughout the room.

Don't you just love these fabrics??
