One Room Challenge time!
In case you missed it last week, here's the synopsis folks. For the One Room Challenge I take an entirely ugly room in my house and re-design it from head to toe, ahem, ceiling to floor. Design and work on the room are done within six weeks and you get to follow along every step of the way via the blog every Wednesdays.
I'm not the only one though, these fab bloggers are participating too:
And of course, don't forget to drop by Linda's Calling it Home, the brain behind all of this.
Excited yet?
Well lets dig in, shall we?!
The disaster area:
I know, its just a shameful, shameful mess! Can you even believe it?
The room is Piper & Peyton's room. It's small, cluttered, and the color of a big ole' mustard smear on your new, crisp, white shirt.
When Greg and I moved in together, this room basically ended up being a combination of two play rooms and two bedrooms, smashed into the size of a shoebox. In our old houses the girls had their own playrooms and their own bedrooms but unfortunately, for now those spaces must be shared to make room for two home offices (Greg and I both work from home).
The main priority here, clearly, is storage. Followed by getting rid of that nasty mustard paint and doing some serious updates on the window treatments.
I was going to go with an aqua and red look for the room but both Piper (8) and Peyton (9) LOVE pink. So pink is a must.
Here is the design board for the room:
Lots of pink, white, aqua, gold, chevron, and sparkles!
I have the look down but need to do some major figuring out of the layout, storage aspect of the room. The room has a really awkward layout/closet issue which I will share with you next week.
I have some maj work to do. Now where is my gold spray paint....?!
